Anyone here aware of an animation competition known as AniMania? Someone has submitted an entry entitled, "The Poor Little Rich Girl."

If you're Googling it like I did, you're thinking, "Oh... like the silent movie?" But if you watch it - I'll let you find it yourself (okay, because it's hard to find, just click here)- you'll find yourself thinking, "Hmm. This sounds and looks oddly similar to another cartoon... one about a little girl who was forgotten..."

It was created by a Singapore artist (or artists?), and I don't mind telling you how extraordinarily peeved I am at the similarity between their 2006/2007 cartoon and mine from 2005. I'm not concerned too much about anyone thinking the theft is the other way around, but I do find it unfair to the other contestants that these people would steal an idea so obviously and get away with it. It's shameful.

I don't know the scope of this competition, but I felt some attention needed to be called to the virtual theft. I've contacted the people at AniMania. Personally, I think the cartoon should be disqualified if it's not too late, but that's for them to decide.

Whoever you animators from Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts are, you should be ashamed of yourselves.
